The Difference between Stationary and Stationery
The words stationary and stationery are often confused because they sound exactly the same. They are homophones.
Stationary (with an A) is an adjective meaning 'not moving', whereas stationery (with an E) is a noun that refers to items such as envelopes, paper, pens, and notebooks.
